Hot Italian Sausage, crescent rolls and Jalapeño Jam are the only three ingredients in this delicious and easy hors d’oeuvre that would be great to serve on Super Bowl Sunday or for any occasion.
Adapted from Becky Hardins recipe.
Spray regular size cupcake pans with cooking oil.
This recipe will make 16 Pigs in the Blanket
so you will need two pans.
Remove the crescent roll dough from the can.
Cut the dough into 16 even pieces without unrolling.
A sharp knife works well to do this.
Roll each piece long enough so it can fit tightly around the sausage.
Pinch the ends together making a circle.
Cut each sausage into 4 pieces for a total of 16 pieces.
Put one sausage piece, cut sides facing up and down,
into the center of each hole in the pan.
Place the dough circles around the sausage.
Add a small dollop of jam on the top of each sausage piece.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 12 – 15 minutes
or until the crescent rolls are a golden brown. Let the
pan sit on a cooling rack for 5 minutes then serve.
